IndyCar Series Leader Will Power Visits Kids At Stollery Children’s
IZOD IndyCar Series points leader Will Power visited with 80 young patients at Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital Thursday, July 22, 2010 as part of the Racing For Kids® program. Joining Power was Firestone Indy Light Driver, Phil Major.
The two racers first greeted youngsters at the hospital’s main entrance where they signed autographs, posed for pictures, handed out the colorful Racing For Kids® baseball caps and helped the excited patients get in and out of a show car provided by the IndyCar Series.
The nearly two-hour visit included bed-to-bed visits and a stop by the Stollery Intensive care unit.
Power, who drives the Verizon #12 Honda Dallara for Team Penske, is the defending champion in Sunday’s Honda Indy Edmonton Race.
Major will pilot the #49 car for Sam Schmidt Racing in the Sunday’s Indy Lights Race.
