Milka Duno & Sparky Entertain Kids At Cook Children's Medical Center

In a particularly festive hospital visit, Racing For Kids racer, Milka Duno, spent time with 75 patients, siblings and family members at Ft. Worth's (TX) Cook Children's Medical Center, Thursday June 4.

 

The group was assembled in a hospital side lot which featured an IndyCar show car and trailer. The popular Duno spent time with each patient, signing Racing For Kids hats and helping them in and out of the show car, Joining Duno, who drivers the #23 CITGO car for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing,  was Sparky, the Texas Motor Speedway Mascot who was also big hit with the youngsters.

 

The visit attracted reporters from two major newspapers, local TV and radio stations.

 

Helping with the visit were representatives of The Texas Motor Speedy Charities and Racing For Kids sponsors, Humana,Inc. TranSystems,Inc. and I-Rex Corp.

 

During the 90 minute visit, I-Rex President Matt Ache presented a $2000 check to Racing For Kids for redistribution to Cook Children's Medical Center. 

 

Saturday, Milka Duno's run in the Bombardier Learjet 550 was ended early, unfortunately, when she was collected in a Graham Rahal crash on Lap One of the 228 Lap IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
