What: Racing For Kids representative, Will Power, who will drive the # 12 Team Penske car in the Honda Indy Edmonton at City Centre Raceway on Sunday, July 25, will visit youngsters at Stollery Children’s Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Power won the Edmonton race in 2009 and has been the most dominant IZOD IndyCar Series racer of the 2010 season, winning four of the first nine races.
Joining him will be Indy Lights Series driver, James Hinchcliffe, who hails from Oakville, Ontario and will drive the # 2 Team Moore Racing car in the Edmonton Indy also on Sunday, July 25.
Power and Hinchcliffe will spend time with youngsters making bedside visits. They will hand out Racing For Kids caps, sign their autograph cards and pose for photos as well as talk about their passion for racing; and help patients try on auto racing equipment.
Racing For Kids Executive Director J. Patrick Wright will accompany the drivers on the visit.

§ Do not park at the inner circle of the 112th St. driverway, as this is an emergency access for fire trucks.

Will Power, who hails from Australia, won the Rexall Edmonton Indy last year and is presently in first place in the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series with four wins so far this season: Watkins Glen, St. Petersburg, Sao Paulo and Alabama. In 2009 he recorded a victory at Edmonton and four top five finishes for Penske Racing. In 2008 he finished 12th in the IndyCar Series standings for KV Racing Technology, winning on the Streets of Long Beach, California.
James Hinchcliffe, a 23-year old Canadian, finished fifth in the Firestone Indy Lights Series last year with best finish of second place at Mid-Ohio. In 2008 he finished fourth in the Atlantic Championship for Forsythe/Pettit Racing with a win at Laguna Seca, two poles and four podium finishes. He is presently in second place in the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights Championship, winning the Streets of Long Beach in April.
Racing For Kids, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, is a Detroit-based national charity founded in 1989. Racing For Kids uses the increasing popularity of motorsports to focus public awareness and funding on the health care needs of children. Racing For Kids has visited more than 22,000 children in more than 450 children’s hospitals in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan and Australia. It has raised more than $5.2 million for the hospitals visited and other children’s health institutions.
