TRANSYSTEMS’ LONG BEACH GP FESTIVITIES HELPS RACING FOR KIDS®

The sunny California weekend started off on Friday at the world-renowned Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes.  TranSystems held a seaside best-ball tournament with all proceeds donated to Racing For Kids®.  The friendly competition concluded in the clubhouse with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.  While the competitors enjoyed the fare, Dr. Bill Pinsky spoke about Racing For Kids® and its mission to use motorsports to raise awareness and funding for children’s healthcare issues.

During the festivities a silent auction was held for a racing helmet autographed by TranSystems sponsored Izod IndyCar Series drivers Mike Conway and Justin Wilson.   At the end of the bidding TranSystems’ Gordon Fulton was the proud owner of the helmet. The remaining guests did not walk away empty-handed.  Door prizes included putters, drivers, golf balls, and other golf equipment.

After a day at qualifying for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on Saturday, a dinner at L’Opera restaurant in downtown Long Beach was hosted by Brian Larson, TranSystems CEO and Chairman.  Drivers Conway and Wilson were in attendance along with the co-owners of Dreyer and Reinbold Racing Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl.

The evening began with each attendee relating their favorite racing story and was followed by a presentation by Dr. Pinsky regarding Racing For Kids’ mission. Next, the drivers and team owners answered questions from the guests and provided insight into the strategy for the race the next day.  As guests enjoyed the conversation and Italian dining, a second silent auction was held for another autographed helmet.  This time the winning bid went to James Lambert, Design and Construction Manager for Million Air, the nation’s premier provider of upscale, private aviation services.

On Sunday TranSystems representatives and guests spent the day at the Grand Prix.  It was a successful day with Wilson and Conway finishing 2nd and 10th respectively.  Wilson has now finished 2nd twice in four races and currently ranks 4th in the battle for the Izod IndyCar Series 2010 Championship.
